History of S. Barber & Co. Ltd.
In 2003 S.Barber & Co Ltd was officially the oldest established printing firm in Liverpool and one of the oldest family run colour printers in the Country. Over ninety years S.Barber & Co Ltd has employed in excess of 400 local people with many employers staying for their full working life.
S.Barber & Co Ltd specialise in quality colour printing and will happily offer assistance with all forms of artwork and design, we are also a print finishers. We are proud to be a Liverpool based firm that has so far stood the test of time and technological advancements. We look forward with great hope to achieving are ultimate aim of one hundred years in business.
Mr Samuel Barber established S.Barber Er Co Ltd in 1914 prior to the outbreak of the Great war, he was previously a senior manager at Woodrow Printers Liverpool. The business premises were based in Tempest Hey, Liverpool and the offices and stationery shop in South John Street. The firm became limited in 1926.
Samuel Barber died in 1939 leaving his son Samuel Yates Barber to take over as Owner and Managing Director. In 1960 the premises were moved to South John Street, Liverpool. In 1962 Samuel Yates Barber died leaving his two sons Roy Leslie Barber and Cyril Samuel Barber to become joint owners and managing directors. Both sons retired in 1996 after chalking up over 100 years service between them.
In 1996 Cyril Barber's sons Paul Martyn Barber and Nigel Stuart Barber (Chairman) became joint owners.
